Tony Scott has worked and exhibited in the Asia Pacific region for over twenty years. He has held 40 solo and group exhibitions in China since 1994 when he staged his first exhibition at the prestigious Red Gate Gallery in Beijing. His practice is committed to cultural exchange between Asia and Australia.

He has been awarded numerous commissions including the Grand Hyatt, Beijing, / Four Seasons Hotel, Hong Kong, / Crown Casino and Hotels, Melbourne, / Australian National Bank, London & Melbourne / Standard Chartered Bank, Tokyo, / Ritz Carlton, Beijing / Park Hyatt, Sanya, Hainan and Shangri La Hotels in Hong Kong, Dalian, and Xiamen, China.

A selection of Tony's latest painting will be opened upstairs at Esolab on Sunday the 27th May 2018 between 2-6 pm. His work takes as its inspiration traditional knowledge and contemporary practice from both a past and present China. He uses images from medical references in both a literal and abstract manner through collage and oil painting.

Tony Scott works with objects, in particular those that have only recently been used and discarded. His studio is filled with medical devices that hail from a bygone era; though if the truth be known, it is a passage of a time not all that far in the past. Combined with even older artefacts and images they speak of the progress of our medical knowledge but also of our mortality in the face of our vast corpus of learning.
